The instructions are very similar for both the mac as well as smartphones. However the other operating systems follow a very similar process so there is no need to worry. As you can see here there are 3 different versions of the software to download based on your computer’s operating system.įor this example we will only be showing you how to download and configure the Xlite software for the Mac operating system. Our first step is to go to this URL where you will be able to download the Xlite software. (Using the OnSIP name servers, and is not recommended as they will only return DNS information regarding OnSIP domains. In this video we’ll show you how to configure a Voip phone extension using the Xlite soft phone application. Contact your ISP to find the DNS servers that they recommend. Click on "Network" and enter a primary and secondary DNS server. At the bottom of the left side panel choose "Advanced". To do that, right-click on the application and choose "Options". If that is not an option, you can hard-code DNS servers into the x-lite/Eyebeam. The best solution is to have a 'real' DNS server listed as the primary DNS server for the PC. At the end of 30 seconds it will attempt a DNS lookup from another DNS provider and that will work immediately. it is the gateway router, then the x-lite will attempt to obtain a successful DNS lookup for exactly 30 seconds. To ensure inbound calling functions properly, login to your SIPTRUNK portal and navigate to SIP Trunking -> SIP Trunks and click on the Modify Trunk. After saving your account settings, hop over to the Codecs tab and remove all codecs except for G711 uLaw. If that DNS server address is, itself, not a 'real' DNS server, e.g. Dial Plan 1 41191193312-9xxxxxxxxx2-9xxxxxxxxxx.T match5 pre'1' 4. The X-Lite/Eyebeam phone does a DNS lookup for 30 seconds to the primary DNS server on the PC. This will typically be the X-LiteInstall. If the X-Lite or Eyebeam phone takes over 30 seconds to register and cannot make outbound calls, the issue is typically DNS related. Exit any software applications that use sound such as CD and media players.
